I doubt he is still developing for PalmOS, the only update's I've seen from him lately is when 4cast needs to be updated because yahoo made a change.

I don't use TakePhone, but what kind of integration are you looking for?

I guess integration of contacts and dialer pad and maybe sms too. I use TAKEphONE as my default dialer and it would be nice to have a Gvoice button so that I could choose to have Sprint or Google Voice make the call from the same app. TAKEphONE also has lots of nice skins!

what I did was create a calling card ... setup the dial string like thus

GVoice#,,,2,password, etc....and then enable calling cards but not default and it'll pop up each time you dial so you can choose.

Hurrah they have three Shimsofts :)

Hey SW gonna setup a shimsoft board pretty soon here.  Welcome Phil to come check us out too, it's pretty much the old gang from the other place, including some who were around when I was still lurking and hadn't even posted yet (I'm not even sure if I had an account though probably did so as to download. . . sorry babbling. . . )

Anyway,
I thought of (maybe though don't know the complete possibilities of it) a way to achieve antmelnat's takephone intergration.  short cuts (like how Hobbyist does) to parts of the program.
then, those apps can go into the spots on TakePhone.

2nd Idea is to learn how to register as a Helper program (but both my units are dead battery so not sure if SMS has a helper, or a section for SMS in the TP helpers)

PALMOS is my specialty Phonewise, though I'm pretty skilled with WebOS and am learning the the rest.
I'm (computerwise) mostly a Windows Guy, though I'm getting better with Linux and am ok with MAC

Hey, got calling card option in takephone set up with google voice settings and I am liking it. Works well and I don't get as much lag or echo like I do at times with the gvoice app. Does any one know why?

not sure how sw's implementing the googlevoice call...it almost looks like he's creating a data connection instead of using the normal telephony layer that takephone is doing -- it's just automating dialling into gv.

I am not interacting with the telephony on the phone at all.  Instead, I'm using the Google API to initiate a call back to you that then connects to the other party.

It is especially useful if you have a "faves" account with your service provider, you can then always have Google Voice be the caller.

If you have an account old enough to have first incoming minute free, you can save that amount too.

I was planning on allowing folks to program buttons as favorites, so that you don't need to dial or lookup the contact.

I have just installed GV for Palm Treo 755p ver 0.2.5. The program will dial the number w/o any problem :), but there is no button to hang the phone up with  :-?  How do I disconnect a call???  Also, it does not list my forwarding phones...any help greatly appreciated!!  Thanks!!

The application does not dial the call - it contacts google to place the call to you and the other party.  Therefore, you would use you phones app to answer and hang up the call.
